The nerf bars are not complicated to install but can be difficult. The instructions were printed with low res black and white photos. They may as well come from a 1984 Haynes auto manual sold at Autozone. For example on the 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee I am told to remove a rubber plug. There was no plug but rather stickers covering hole with insanely strong 3m adhesive. Requiring the sticker to be pierced with a knife then pried off. Only to find there was foam in some holes. The instructions also do a poor job on explaining what bolt is what and me and friend had to measure the bolts. Long story short, my head was hit and friend and I discovered the importance of eye protection. The product looked good once installed but it was a tight space on Jeep Grand Cherokee. The screws were tightened with impact wrench and they won't go nowhere. I recommend this product but the instructions suck! Why can there not be a pdf of print out in color with hires images specific of what to look for and what tools are needed. Moreover, it wouldn't hurt to list what bolt is which with a descriptive picture. Always eye protection too!

Put these on a 2017 Grand Cherokee Trail Hawk. Allows for ease of access to the roof rack and the side protrusion although not excessive, prevents many door dings. They do not take away much from the ground clearance. I measured and it is 15/16th of and inch off of the skid plates in the worst spot. I would rather scrape the bar mount, than the skid plates. Adds and extra layer of warning if you want to think of it that way. Besides, let's face it, how many of us are going to take a Grand Cherokee on a serious off-road adventure, maybe climb a few logs when camping or pull yourself confidently through the snow or on unpaved mountain roads as I do here is Colorado. I went with the 3" bars so they were not overbearing in appearance which is just right for a mid-size SUV. I purchased the bars in black as they match the Trail Hawk appearance package, they look great. Really like the three mount brackets per bar. Many other nerf/side bars only have 2 mount brackets per bar which allows flex in the middle when standing on the bar. Not these, the extra center bracket really makes these bars sturdy. And for the price, with free shipping from AutoAccessoriesGarage, it is a steal. I feel like I stole them, no kidding. Point is, do not hesitate because you think a 3" bar and the low price means a cheep product, not the case. The center bracket really makes these bars strong. Definitely recommend this product.
