Take the turns with less body roll! Made from heat-treated 4140 chromemoly spring steel, these Hellwig anti-sway bars reduce body roll, even during tight cornering. They come with high-durometer polyurethane bushings to ensure superior performance, and install easily with basic hand tools. Mounting hardware is included. Hellwig Anti-sway bars can make a dramatic improvement in a vehicle's handling. They are able to reduce wandering on the road and allow tighter turns at higher speeds while providing the driver more control.
What does an anti-sway bar do?
An anti-sway bar is designed to reduce body roll. It keeps your vehicle flatter in the turns by transferring the pressure exerted on the outboard wheels and applying opposite pressure on the inboard wheels. In this way, weight is more evenly applied to all four wheels, helping the vehicle stay more level with the road.
Why would I want an anti-sway bar on my vehicle?
Most likely, you already have an anti-sway bar on the front of your car or truck. In some cases this is sufficient but often it can be improved upon. A greater diameter bar will give you more resistance to body roll. Adding a rear bar will make an even greater improvement. By keeping the vehicle more level in a turn you will have significantly more control, giving you better handling. A good combination of front and rear bars can also keep your motor home or heavily loaded truck more stable on the open road. Any time you alter a vehicle's ride height you change its center of gravity, and a good suggestion to compensate for the handling change is to upgrade the anti-sway bars. As a general rule, any time you add an anti-sway bar, or upgrade an existing bar, you will receive a noticeable improvement in the way your vehicle handles.
Before & After - Will there be any adverse effects when I add a bar?
No. An outstanding feature of anti-sway bars is that they have virtually no adverse effects when the bar is properly designed for the vehicle.
Why should I choose a HELLWIG anti-sway bar?
HELLWIG's anti-sway bars are the best bars in the after-market industry. Hellwig's bar stock is 41-40 chrome molly spring grade steel. The bars are entirely heat formed and coined as one piece. Hellwig pus their bars through this extensive process to insure that the final product will be the strongest most durable bar on the market, and that it will be the most resistant to form alteration. Most after-market anti-sway bars are cold-bent, making them weaker at the bends and more vulnerable to shape alteration. A Hellwig anti-sway bar kit comes with all the hardware necessary to mount the bar, in most cases without any drilling required. Hellwig Anti-Sway Bar kits include polyurethane mounting bushings for even crisper handling.

Best part I've ever purchased. Truck rides like a sports car -no sway at all. Adjustable with the nuts on the vert bolt rods. Be aware to angle the "d brackets" per instructions to eliminate stress on the rear end tubes. It's a solid ride that I love.

The order was shipped in a timely fashion and appears to be exactly what my son wanted for Christmas. However, because of the weather, he has not put the part on his truck yet and I can't comment on the performance or quality at this time.

I installed the Hellwig #7642 anti-sway bar on my van today. The installation went well. The only catch was on the driver's side frame bracket, It was a tight fit with the gas tank and fuel lines so close to where the mounting bolt had to go. But, the hole was already in the frame and it was the right size. I had to buy one 1/2 inch nut because one was missing from the kit (there was an extra 3/8 inch nut. I haven't driven the van yet so I can't rate the performance but, with no bar in the back before is would have to be an improvement.

Excellent product works well and to my expectations. UPS delivered carton damaged but nothing was damaged or missing because all loose components (nuts, bolts, bushings) were in a smaller box glued securely inside the carton.
