The hitch appears sturdy enough, but it was not built with adequate precision. It fit the car poorly and very substantial force was needed to align the holes so that it could be secured to the chassis. Several other reviews mention the same, so it looks like mine was not an isolated incident. In addition, its packaging was poor. My hitch arrived with the box torn and one side of the hitch protruding and scratched. Scratches on an item that is meant to be mounted to the underside of your car aren't terribly important, so I chose to ignore it. However, the insufficient packaging added to the overall impression of a poor quality product. If this was a smaller item I would probably have returned it. Persistence paid off and now that it is mounted the hitch looks okay and functions as expected.

The mounting holes do not match well. When the mounting holes on the right side are aligned, the left side holes are off over 1 inch. This part is with heavy metal and very difficult to stretch or bend. It took us 3 men over 2 hours to fix the mounting holes in order to install this part.

Curt Manufacturing Class 3 Round Hitch Receiver for my new 2012 Toyota Highlander - Fairly easy to install. I did it on the ground, not on a lift. Had to use a long bar on the drivers side to line up last two holes in frame. Dealer wanted over $1,100 for hitch, harness & installation. I did it myself for $193!

The hitch went on fairly easy. The supplied bolts were too long for the rearmost holes, and the instruction-cited stone pan modifications were excessive. BUT, this is an awesome product and I'm proud of it.

The hitch works very well although the holes did not line up with the frame without "coaxing" Good installation instructions.

Nice & easy, the fitting at the bumper a bit too tight though.
