When you're looking for a professional-grade spreader, that's also economical and lightweight, look no further than the Meyer Hot Shot Walk Behind Spreader. Weighing in at a meager 45 pounds, this easily maneuverable device can carry up to 120-pounds of salt or ice-melt - it can just as easily disperse seed and fertilizer, for year-round functionality.

The Meyer Hot Shot Walk Behind Spreader was designed with ease and efficiency in mind. You’ll notice 13" pneumatic wheels which provide superior traction during use – these help stabilize the spreader over uneven terrain, and keep superior traction even over snow and ice. The spreader's flow gate is fully adjustable, allowing you to alter your amount of material flow quickly and easily. Plus, a convenient memory lock allows you to pre-set your flow of material. A poly distribution shield raises and lowers, quickly changing your spread width from 3-4 feet to 8-10 feet as you desire.

The rust-proof, polypropylene hopper includes an internal material agitator complete with a filter screen that allows material to flow to the spinner in a constant, steady stream. A sealed gear case keeps the gears completely clear of damage and contamination while a stainless steel impeller haft prevents rust and corrosion. Meyers backs this with a 1-Year Warranty.

Product seems to be very sturdy. We've only used it once so far, but it has worked very well. Assembly was also very easy. The shipment was delayed and we never received an explanation. That was disappointing. The box was bashed up pretty badly when we received it, so there was concern the product was damaged. But it was fine with no defects or problems with the product itself. Overall very happy with the product.

It really is a cheaply made unit, maybe good for grass seed, something dry and small in size. Not made for the Northeast salt/sand mixes, that's for sure. I had to make MANY modifications to the unit, and it still has issues. Be aware of what you want to spread with any of these!
