Bak Flip Cover; Awesome
I had a Roll Top hard cover on my previous Ford truck and thought it was the greatest. The old unit cost more and I needed someone else to install it. The Bak Flip cover is much better, it looks great, was easy to install, and this web site delivered quick results and great customer service! Bak Flip is now by far my product of choice for truck covers!

BakFlip Tonneau Cover
This is actually my second BakFlip cover. I had one on a 2008 Nissan Frontier before I sold that truck to get the Ford. This cover does it all. It provides a hard top that is lockable using your tailgate's lock. So no flimsy, cheap lock like on other hard tops and superior security to a soft top. It keeps the bed dry and has channels that route the water out drain tubes. The tubes run out the front of your truck bed through the drain plugs on the wall. Neither truck experienced water in the bed with the cover on and closed. Best of all it simply folds up in sections if you need to haul something bigger than will fit under it. Takes just seconds to fold up and out of the way. No more removing the whole cover just to haul things. I would and have recommended it to others and as I stated, I liked it so much it was one of the first things on the new truck.

Happy customer
The cover install was as simple as it gets. I've had several covers on different trucks this one is the best by far. I was done in about a half hour! Didn't check for water yet but it seems tight and looks great. The only thing I might add is a light cable so I can open it without opening the tail gate when I feel like it.

My overall rating is 3. The rails did not fit. I had to grind the ends of them a little. I had to remove the drain tube fitting from the rail because it would not fit with the factory Ford bed liner. The bed liner is molded out in that area. I have to figure out how to drill a hole with out hacking up the liner. The rubber seal the bakflip rest on is crooked looks cheesy. The worst was receiving it with out the clamps and it taking 2 special shipments to get them. The directions should be included for the different bed liners. This could be a GREAT product if Bakflip took a few minutes longer on the quality control side. Little things go a long way.

Fits poorly on truck
I received the cover, and mounted up the rails which went on easy enough. I then unpacked and attempted to fit the cover itself. Unfortunately no matter what I did, I was unable to get the front holes to fit over the slots on the rails. Eventually I was able to pull it enough so that it would fit onto both rails, but the bolt for the front is at a pretty good angle to do this. Lastly, because it isn't wide enough, only one side of the latches work. I measured the latches and compared it to the width that the rails sat at and it isn't wide enough to latch it closed on both sides.

Very Good Cover ... needs some tuning
Contrary to the advertised time for installation, it actually took me about a half an hour to get this cover put on, and it was the end of the weekend before I got the drainage right. Much of the installation time was spent opening the box and making sure everything was there (it was). If I had to do a second cover, sure, I could do it much more quickly. I love the cover, but there are two things that need improvement. First, the way the back lip meets the tailgate is a problem. As it's built, it provides a very good seal to keep water out of the bed of the truck, but there is a price to pay; every time you close your tailgate, you must first lift the BakFlip cover up so that the tailgate clears it. This seems like a small problem, until your other arm is busy holding something and you need to close the gate with your one free hand. Secondly, the water drains at the front of the truck bed are problematic. The drains consist of two 5/8 inch tubes that are supposed to be connected to small outlet spouts built into the BakFlip. The tubes then run to the drain plugs in the bed of your truck. If you own a pretty truck, be advised that this is a clunky look, as though your truck just had a minor surgical procedure done. If, like me, you have a BedRug (soft shell, carpet-type bed liner), you must remove the entire liner to get to the drains. Or, you could do what I did, which is drive to Home Depot, buy 16 feet of 5/8 tubing, and run the drains between the bed liner and the truck bed out to the tailgate. I had to cut slits in the liner to do this, but it worked out fine. Once installed, this cover has worked very well. I just made my first trip to the county dump and the BakFlip performed perfectly while in the open position. I did indeed gain access to the entire truck bed, so hauling away six trash cans and one old tonneau cover was almost as easy as if there were no cover at all. The cover, when standing open, takes away about four inches at the front of the bed's opening. If you're hauling something tall, like a piano, this could conceivably be a problem, but that's not likely and even if it were, the top can be completely removed by taking out two bolts. Also, be advised that when the BakFlip is open like this, it completely blocks your rear window. That's why we have side-view mirrors, people. The BakFlip is a very very good cover. I used it to replace a tonneau cover that was about 4 years old and had failed in a myriad of different ways. If you are buying your first-ever cover, do yourself a favor and spend the extra money up front on this one instead of buying a cheaper vinyl tonneau and replacing it with a BakFlip later, as I did. There is one small drip happening that I have to track down before I haul bags of QuickCrete or priceless Monet paintings, but that's a tuning issue. If you own a pickup, you're probably a good problem solver anyway.

I have had by bakflip cover for a month and so far really like it. We installed ourselves with few problems but it did take longer than it should have because the instructions were the worst I've ever seen. Improving them would be very easy. If you are mechanically minded at all you can figure it out, it would have just gone a lot quicker with better instructions. The internet video helped also. Now that we know how we could probably do it in 30 - 45 min easily. I do wish there was a way to open it from the outside and still be able to lock it so I could open it reach over the top and grab something out then shut it. Now you have to drop the tail gate to get something out and then you have to lift the lid to shut the tail gate which takes two hands -so you need to put down whatever you got out to do that. I am constantly in and out of it otherwise it wouldn't matter. I have not had the cover out in a heavy driving rain yet but I have not noticed any leaking problems. I do like it much better than my fiberglass top I had as I can completely open up the bed of the truck and I think the whole thing could be removed if wanted in a matter of minutes with two people yet seems very secure from break in when on. I carry a couple thousand dollars worth of tools in the back and I am not to concerned about someone getting in, however, if someone is determined I suppose they could get into about anything. I also like the fact that you can put up to 200 lbs. of distributed weight on top if you want. So far I think this is a great product!

BAK BakFlip Tonneau Cover
I installed the cover on a 2008 Chevy crew cab Silverado in less than 45 minutes. The cover shipped fast and installed just like the video, "easy" and looks great! It took longer to read the instruction that to do the installation. I thought I might have installed it incorrectly because went on just like the instructions and it fit perfectly. No leaks, looks great and the truck even rides a little smoother. If you are looking for a hard cover for your truck this is the best hard cover for the price and yes you do still have use of the entire bed of the truck when it is in the open position. One suggestion for the manufacture: On the drain hose connectors: Consider using a 90 degree elbow instead of a straight connector, that way the drain hose will not kink when installed in the side bed holes and no holes would have to drilled in the floor of the bed.

I just purchased the BakFlip Tonneau cover from Auto Accessories and would highly recommend both. My transaction with AA was fast, simple and proper. The BakFlip Tonneau is everything I thought it would be and more. This cover looks great and I can still use my bed rails. Had three days of rain this week and no leaks. Good product from a good retailer.

The cover is very well made and should last forever. Suggestions 1. Bakflip should think about including a package of TrailSeal with the top. It would only cost $20.00 and would finish the job of really enclosing the truck bed and making it waterproof. 2. The directions should be more informative and contain a lot more pictures,,, In other words, "dumb down" the instructions for 1st time installers like me... I really like the top...

BAKflip for TITAN
I have a 2008 Nissan Titan w/utlitrak system. It was a little harder because of the extra steps of removing and turning them over but overall installation was not hard at all. I could not find anything about the front piece of the utlitrak system that was up aganist the bed and was not sure wether to remove it or not. It looked like it would fit with but after I installed the rails, I learned it was not going to fit. So, everyone w/ a Titan with Utlitrak remove the front piece. I love the way it looks and works. It is a great product.

Between the discount I received and installing myself, I manage to save $270 off of the price quoted by a local retailer. The only problem I encountered was one of the drain spouts arrived broken. I did a lot of research before deciding to make a purchase and the BakFlip cover seemed to be what I was looking for in a tonneau cover. I wanted a hard tonneau cover where I could secure my belongings in the truck bed. I also wanted one that would give me the flexibility of not having to remove the cover when I needed to carry a tall item. This one just folds out of the way. It was shipped well packaged and was received in less than a week. Installation was a breeze. I am very impressed with the fit, finish, and outstanding quality. This is a top notch product. I was very quick and easy to install my Bakflip cover. I have a Nissan Titan, and it took me longer to flip the utilitrack rails over than it did to actually install the cover. I wish it would stay a little more square to the bed on its own, rather than me having to slightly adjust it sometimes (especially for the price it costs), but overall it is a good product that keeps my bed dry and improves my gas mileage.

I was surprised to have the cover shipped to me sooner than the scheduled delivery date. Once unboxed I found extra pieces (strips for the railings to be added along with the shims) included that weren't mentioned in the installation instructions. Turns out I needed them after I had done the install. After resolving that slight confusion, the assembly went together well and the sections snapped in place as advertised. This definately improves the look of the truck and I get compliments from other motorists. They want to know where to get one! I love the fact I can have full use of the bed like hauling my quads and not having to dismantle or remove anything like you would with hard tops. Another plus is less time to wax the truck since I'm not having to polish a hoard top tonneau. Overall I'm very satisfied and feel it was well worth the purchase.

Everything they said it was
After searching the web for a ridgid Tonneau cover I came across the BAK BakFlip. I liked the flexibility it offered by being able to open sections to fit the cargo, the low profile, being able to secure the contents in my bed, easy of installation and removal as well as storing the top. It was a purchase well worth it! The BakFlip was everything they said it was. The longest part of the install was cutting away the composite bedliner so the rails would fit - without the bedliner it would have been a 15 minute install! BakFlip stands behind their product, the rubber molding was cracked when I received the cover and BAK sent me a replacement - no hassles! I highly recommend the BakFlip as well as AutoAccessories Garage.com

The bakflip is really great and I highly recommend it. It's sporty looking and I like the low profile design. Although it supposed to be "easy" to install, it took me over an hour b/c the instruction was not too friendly...maybe you shouldn't use black and white copy prints. I've had the bakflip for over two months now with constant use and have not had any problems with it. I like the fact that I have full use of my bed when the bakflip is folded up. The only minor problem that I see is that the rubber seal is already showing some wear/tear around the hinges but that's too be expected. The price for the item is "so-so"...I wish you would come down on the price a little!

What a great cover. Easy to install (aprox 45 minutes ) Looks very good, and I have had a lot of complements. I 've had people come over at gas stations and ask about it. The only negative comment I can make is it restricts the opening of the in-bed trunk, but you still have enough clearance to load /unload big items (not a big deal). I trimmed the rubber seal at the tailgate to give it a cleaner look, before it stuck out a little when looking from the side. I am very picky over quality and looks, so I highly recommend this cover over any other I have seen (and I looked at several).

The quality seems pretty good, my 3 and 7 year old boys climbed on it, together, and it didn't buckle. The fit was excellent- everyone who sees it asks if it's factory. It would be nice to have a simple locking device. Other than that I think it's an very good product.

decent cover
The Bak Flip cover serves its purpose well as far as security and waterproof qualities. It is also fairly decent in appearance. The cover only sticks out about 1/4 above the top rails of the bed. It is also very versitile in the way that it flips into itself and has mounting brackets to hold it up while driving with it open. The only thing I don't like is the external rubber gaskets & seals for the watertightness. Overall I am pleased with the Bak Flip cover.

Bak-flip cover
The top was very easy to install and looked very sharp. I would not recommend placing items on the cover or standing on the cover as illustrated on the website. I strapped a 40 pound box on the cover and it broke a panel. The broken panel is not very visible because of the durable outer coating but the integrity is diminished. Only time will tell if the damage becomes more noticable or makes the cover inoperable.

Dont waste your money
If I wasn't in dire need for the cover, I would have returned it. It didn't fit, I had to cut 1/4 inch from the rails to get my tailgate to close. The seals on both rails were missing sections of length. The trim tape is peeling from the inner edges of the panels. Some kind of adhesive was all over the inside of some panels, with a large glob at one corner that I had to cut off to get it to fit in the rail. The rubber seal that seals on the bed rail has a couple of heavily abraded areas on them. One of the forward latches fails to latch most of the time.

The simplistic attractiveness of this cover
is great! Go through the process of having this vendor fill your order promptly . . .have the item arrive at your door super quick . . .unpack and install the unit in under a half hour and stand back and say to yourself in amazement . . . "THAT'S IT?????" There is no drilling on the G2. (Unless you want to drill the drain plugs) As long as you have a T50 and T40 Torx ready, as well as a philips screwdriver, the process could not be simpler. It would also be easier if there was a second set of hands when placing the unit on the frame as well as to push the fastening bolts down as you tighten things up. But it can be a one man project to the "change your own oil" type". If your looking for a practical, definitely attractive, versitile, simple to install hard-cover that has an OEM look to it. . . (as well as no hassle, reliable, fast shipping from the sponsor) the Bakflip is something definitely worth considering. Price wise, I wouldn't say the Bakflip G2 is a screaming bargain for the Ridge owner; however I would say the unit is priced on the mid to top-end of "a fair price". Note: If one or two of the cover locks don't engage the first few days before the unit seats itself on the weather stripping, just make a fist and rap on the cover above the lock and it will click into place.

Best Cover I have ever had on my truck!!!!!
The BAK flip folding hard tonneau is by far the best investment I have made for my truck. I get better mileage than having the bed open - 1.5 more mpg's. The fit is perfect and it looks great with the low profile design. I also like the security it provides. Since I own an 08 F150 Super Crew with a locking tailgate, the added peace of mind of the hard cover with the locked tailgate allows me to feel very comfortable leaving tools and equipment in the bed. I have taken my truck through countless car washes and been in some significant rain storms.....NOT ONE DROP OF WATER - EVER. I have had the soft rolling covers, retractable hard "garage door" type covers, snap covers, hinged covers...by far the BAK Flip is THE BEST!!!!

Fits Like A Dream!
I have a ‘07 Toyota Tundra with the track system. The cover installed directly into the track system like a dream (NO DRILLING). Easier to install than I thought, and the finish and looks far exceeded my expectations!
