    I've had similar factory cargo liners for our larger SUVs, and liked how well the trunk/cargo area was protected. The regular floor covering in my VW Beetle was their standard heavy gray felt, which was functional but didn't look durable for the long run. But this WeatherTech Cargo Liner looks great in my trunk. It fits perfectly and provides much more protection. Last week I loaded two concrete deck post piers into the trunk on top of these, and they didn't tear or scratch a bit. The concrete dust wiped up easily. Had I put the piers directly on top of the felt trunk liner that VW provides, it would have torn or damaged it. To install it, I just put it in. I didn't have to do any cutting, it just fit the contour of the floor perfectly.
