BMW 1-Series Exhaust

This exhaust pairs perfect with Stage 3 intake manifold, Stage 2 Air intake and Tune upgrades I did. It gives a nice growl to the car but not obnoxiously loud to the point of setting off car alarms as you drive by. The hardest part is cutting off the stock exhaust as the clearance between the top of it and heat shield are minimal -see pic. I used a 6" cut off wheel on my angle grinder to cut off as much of the pipes as possible then used a hand hacksaw for the rest. Some Tips for the install: Marking the cuts: Lightly clamp the magnaflow pieces together then put it on jacks under car and align it to the hangers then mark the spot. Cutting stock one: If using 6" cutting wheel then start the cut between the two pipes and go up as far as possible then from that point cut outwards of each pipe. Removing/Installing old/new exhaust: Use jacks to hold in place and support the weight while doing either. Stock exhaust: weld a sleeve that extends roughly 6" before and after the end you cut off. Now you can swap between the two if needed (takes 10 mins to swap) or keep it as a backup. Follow the rest of the directions that come with the exhaust.
