The key element of the F1 is its new fiberglass-reinforced polymer (FRP) top, which makes this the strongest and lightest Bakflip yet.
The BakFlip F1 is built for superior strength, durability, and impact resistance. The fiberglass-reinforced top sits on top of a higher-density EPS core and an aluminum underside for rock-solid structural security. The cores of F1 panels are 35% denser than those on the G2, making them considerably more rigid. The BakFlip F1 satisfies OEM Quality and Rigidity Standards and qualifies as an Original Equipment Part for one of the Big 3 auto manufacturers.
The BakFlip F1 Tonneau Cover installs and operates just like the G2 and HD models. Its panels fold open and lock up against the cab for full truck bed access without removing the cover. Integrated drain channels and seamless water-tight folds keep rain and moisture out of your bed. The F1 latches closed under the bed rails and locks up with your tailgate for total cargo security. I had a BAK cover for my previous truck and loved it (except that it's not waterproof), so purchased this one for my new F150. Unfortunately, quality control missed this one. Holes were drilled wrong in several places, metal filings were not cleaned up, drain hole was offset and metal pushed into channel so would be very difficult for water to drain. It also just doesn't fit well. Very disappointed. It's not like a 2018 F150 is a rare item.

Product is as advertised for style and fit. Overall, I am satisfied with my purchase. Design is flat, glossy finish with a relatively simple installation. My issue is the unit arrived with scratches and there is no mention of how or what type of touch up paint is required. I would also consider that knowledge to be a key part of maintenance in the future. In addition the cable release system becomes loose and hangs down in the be 2-3 inches after only a couple of uses. This could be an issue depending on your cargo.

My F-150 was purchased recently. Immediately, I added a spray in bedliner, then ordered the BAK Flip F1. I couldn't be happier. It is solid, rugged, but simple to open and close. It went in within 45 minutes. It took that long only because I read/followed the directions. It was very simple and I could see installing it in 30 minutes.

I would highly recommend this bed cover to anyone out there who can’t decide which one to buy. It’s sleek, it’s easy to install (as long as it’s not 95 degrees outside) and it fits flush with the body lines of the truck. I love it!

Great product. The only reason it too so long is because I'm very picky, It could be installed in less than hour easy. Took truck thru an automatic car wash and very little water got inside of bed. I did purchase the tailgate seal kit also so that probably helped with water also.

My 3rd Bak Flip 1, first on my sons 2010 F150 (gift, still in use), then my 2011 F150 (traded in) and now my 2016 F150. All have preformed well. While out and about at gas stations and parking lots other pickup owners ask me about my Bak Flip and want me to open it up for them, I'm sure I have led others to buy one for themselves. Just a great product that works as advertised

It looks very nice and was relatively easy to install. I recommend you place the cover first on the bed before taping the seal strip to make sure that it completely aligned with the cover.

I like it... but BAK needs to include a 90 degree tube, so the water can be routed out of an already existing hole at the top, rather than having to drill through the bed.
