Had to drop gas tank to uninstall the OEM hitch! Major PITA!!! reinstall, not bad but lacking drilled hole to reattach the wiring harness trailer socket.

It was an easy install, took longer to remove old hutch then to mount new. The hardware provided, worked great. Only recommendation for Curt is to provide a provision to mount the factory trailer plug connector.

Looks good and I ordered this around 2pm on Thursday June 30th with the holiday weekend coming I was bummed I wouldn’t have it to haul my boat. I traded vehicles with my grandfather for the weekend just to come home from work Friday to find my hitch had already been delivered! Very happy.

This was installed on a 2000 Ford Excursion 4x4 7.3L Diesel. The pros are: Excellent thought put into making this an easy install. The bolt threaders were a phenomenal idea from Curt as it made getting the bolts in the holes so much easier. The quality is exceptional and everything lined up well. The only con I could see, and this was not Curt's fault, but Ford's, is that the 44 gallon diesel tank has a rock guard/skid plate surrounding it, and that skid plate extended out a little too much on the sides slightly covering the bolt heads. The skid plate moved a little by jamming the socket on the head of the nut and flexing it sideways allowing me to turn the nut and tighten it up. I had already removed the old stock receiver a year or so ago, so this was only an installation, not an R&R.
