The part seems well built. Once installed, it looks factory built. However, it arrived with several gauges in the paint all the way down to the metal. I needed it for this weekend so I couldn’t return it.

The product itself is great, I wish there was a warning as to how low this hitch will actually hang under the Carnival. You need to be careful passing any uneven lanes or going along steep angled driveways/roads or it will hit the paving etc. there is no way to pass a curb with or without a trailer.. not sure if this is a design issue that could be maintained by not using a rounded bar, but the main issue lays with Kia‘s design of how the hitch is placed. Some days after installing, I also received a recall from Kia regarding the wire outlet which apparently is prone to cause shortages leading to fires. So if you plan to install the hitch with a tow hitch cable make sure you get that addressed first with Kia.

Curt has done a fantastic job of manufacturing a version of KIA's hitch receiver. I do not believe that any do-it-yourselfer would pay the ridiculous amount of money that KIA is asking for their version of the hitch for the Carnival. Curt has also made it very simple to add wiring for a fraction of the cost as well. the Look and feel of this product is really on point with the look and feel of the KIA Carnival brand as a whole. I would have liked to seen KIA or even Curt tuck the hitch under the bumper cover raising it a bit. as it does sit a bit low. However it does not sit lower than the rear lower A-arms. The one other thing that I would have like to seen Curt Manufacturing do with this product is add a spot to attach your wiring plug to. I opted to make to small holes in the bumper cover and used a zip-tie to secure it to the underside of the vehicle so as to not have a bunch of zip-ties along the hitch tube. Over-all it is pretty self explanatory and a straight forward add-on. I highly recommend using the torque specifications that Curt Manufacturing has provided. A little bit of red loctite as well to help it stay secure. The passenger side where the exhaust is, the forward most bolt is a bit of a bear to get to with a socket unless you take the entire rear section of the exhaust down (not a necessity). Overall great Value at a fraction of the cost of KIA product. Ease of installation. I would recommend this product to anyone looking for a hitch receiver for their KIA Carnival

This is definitely the right hitch for the 2022 Kia Carnival. It came with 6 bolts and washers which is all you need. It also gave you the dimensions for what needs to be cut on the driver said paneling underneath the car. The CURT 56420 Vehicle-Side Custom 4-Pin Trailer Wiring Harness was plug and play. We had a lift so this only took about an hour to complete but would be more difficult without a lift. I save $600 or more by just doing this myself and ordering the hitch and harness. Very pleased.

I installed this Kia Carnival hitch by myself on the ground, but I have been wrenching in the automotive field for the most part of 40 years. I thought the installation was easy, but than again I have lots of tools. If you install, before the bolt hole threads rust or fill with road dirt, as I did there will be no problem. The hitch is heavy, so a helper to hold one side in position is probably mandatory. Three bolts on each side came with the hitch and good thing because they are metric thread (12mm x 1.25) and a little hard to find, also have special washers to keep the bolts locked in place. Follow the instructions for torque (60 ft lbs- blue thread locking compound is optional) and the trimming of the splash guard you have to remove. Definitely lube the exhaust hanger(s) for ease of removal/install. The toughest part is installing the bolts, the ones on the exhaust side. Maybe because I did not jack up the vehicle (and support with jack stands) and just removed rear most exhaust hanger. Curt #56420 4 pin trailer harness (amazon search) is plug and play, I suggest you secure the module on the stud near the body connector with a 6mm x 1.0 nut and washer, you may need to enlarge the hole in the module slightly, to keep it from bouncing around and damaging something. The price I got from Auto Accessories Garage was so low I do not think they made any money on the hitch but I do see it has gone up in price since my purchase, it is still the best place to buy from, the dealer is just off the hook on there price. I did not know I would write a review so I did not take any pictures to post.

Great product. It took a little more time to install than expected because I had to take off the back part of the exhaust to have enough room to bolt the right side of the hitch properly. It was easy but time-consuming. It is recommended to have two people install it because the hitch is heavy and awkward. I installed it myself, but I had two small jacks holding it in place while I installed it. You need to invest in some car ramps to back the vehicle up to have enough clearance to do the job. You will also need to get exhaust pliers to get the rubber exhaust cuff off the hanger. The other tools I used - a screwdriver to take the plastic pins that hold the dustpan that protects the left side of the car, and a socket set with a 4-5inch extender. Overall the Hitch is solid as long as you torque down the bolts between 75 - 80 foot pounds. The boxing was a little unconventional, and looked like two boxes put together, so I was concerned at first, but when I opened it up everything was there and brand new!
