The install was very easy- just a few machine screws to hold it to the hood. The clearance was tight. In fact I had to shim my hood loop (latch) with a thin washer so the hood would close. It is a good looking deflector and very functional.

Looks good. Corny "stampede" manufacturer badge comes off easy enough. Would have preferred a more "low profile" look, but is ok. Easy to install, looks like factory.

This is the second Stampede LP Series Hood Protector I have owned. My first was on a 2003 Silverado. It took a beating in hard, cold winters of South Dakota and then in the Florida sun (after a move), but never faded or cracked. The new protector's anchor points lined up perfectly with the existing holes in the hood and easy to install. It looks great. Of note, there is a faint whistle at 70 mph and greater, but can only be heard when no one talking and/or the radio is off.

I've used Stampede shields before on other vehicles with good success. Unfortunately, I was disappointed with the fit and quality of this one. I had to elongate the holes on one side of the shield in order to maintain an even distance from the hood. It was far too close to the hood on the driver's side and the holes would have too close to the hood lip. Once installed, I noticed the curved "wrap around" edge on the driver's side was vastly different than the passenger side, like it was "under-formed" wh
