Advantage HardHat Tonneau Cover

Looks good, so far I'm pleased!

Does not fit bed the way I like. The left back latch fits the handle to get into the bed. You can barely open the top half of the tailgate and you can close the top half of the tailgate with out first releasing the Tonneau Cover close the top half of the tailgate and open the whole tail gate relatch the cover and then you can close the full gate asm.

This Advantage Hardtop model is a much better design than the Advantage Rag top that I'm replacing. The front clamping is more secure and does not loosen up much when it gets hot. On the Rag top model I had to modify/re-enforce with 1x1" aluminum angle the 4 areas where the aluminum rib meets the plastic clamping mounts. That area tends to bow under any pressure and the Rag top flew off the truck on the Freeway like a Frisbee. NOT GOOD! I will probably have to do the same to the Hard top as it appears that the plastic to aluminum connection was never changed or corrected. Over all the Hard top seems to be "Okay so far" but a bit pricey! And it's MUCH heavier.

Was looking for a folding hard cover, there are very few options that fit on the OBS Fords, it does the job, but I am not impressed. I was disappointed to find out the substrate material that makes up the hard panels is very thin (~1/8in), not offering the same level of security I was hoping for. Vinyl lays pretty flat when closed, not much lifting at the hinge points. The plastic latches are better than some I have seen on other comparable models, but still plastic; show wear after only a couple times of use. The cover is well dimensioned, fits on the bed appropriately and fits with bed rails all the way around, good sealing at the tailgate. Had the cover on during a serious storm, bed was dry afterwards.

Nice looking cover for the most part except at hinge points the canvas fabric does not lie flush but flares outward distracting from the overall appearance.
