Having a Ram 2500 4x4 and being 5' 6" tall, I would use an unsteady stool to access the engine compartment. Have not used the tirestep for any type of work on my truck..BUT...I did try it out on every tire and do believe that I will be happy with it...It is sturdy..allows for sure footing and the height adjustment adds to it's usefulness.
