The new BakFlip F1 builds upon the popular BakFlip G2 and HD designs, with even better features and materials. The key element of the F1 is its new fiberglass-reinforced polymer (FRP) top, which makes this the strongest and lightest Bakflip yet.

The BakFlip F1 is built for superior strength, durability, and impact resistance. The fiberglass-reinforced top sits on top of a higher-density EPS core and an aluminum underside for rock-solid structural security. The cores of F1 panels are 35% denser than those on the G2, making them considerably more rigid. The BakFlip F1 satisfies OEM Quality and Rigidity Standards and qualifies as an Original Equipment Part for one of the Big 3 auto manufacturers.

The BakFlip F1 Tonneau Cover installs and operates just like the G2 and HD models. Its panels fold open and lock up against the cab for full truck bed access without removing the cover. Integrated drain channels and seamless water-tight folds keep rain and moisture out of your bed. The F1 latches closed under the bed rails and locks up with your tailgate for total cargo security. Plus, it's finished off with two coats of epoxy primer and a scratch-resistant polyester coating for tough factory looks.

Well made product, fit perfectly. Couldn't use some of its function because my vehicle had an attached sport bar,but serves my purpose providing a weather tight enclosure for gear. Note: I did have to modify the rear mount on my sport bar to make it work,

Siderails adhesive strip were not adhered to rails and were sticking to protective shipping plastic. One siderail strip was cut 2” short. I had purchase a similar adhesive strip to fill the gap. Front truck bed gasket’s packing rubber bands were so tight they permanently deformed the gasket. For a BakFlip F1 you would expect better workmanship.

This is the second BakFlip F1 cover I have purchased in the last 3 years. This one is for my 2017 GMC Canyon. They are well built, practical, and look good on the vehicle. They are not water tight but close to it. Simple for one person to install with minimal tools. The ability to open one or more sections and drive at Interstate speeds is a great feature. A minor negative is the inability to close the tailgate without lifting the rear panel.

All components arrived in good shape. Having watched three or four YouTube videos on the installation, the actual work was a piece of cake. Pay attention to the instructions on how to shim if required on your vehicle. A 9/16 ratchet, a knife or scissors to cut the bulkhead seal to length, and maybe a flat tip screwdriver to knock out drain plugs for the drainage tubes were the only tools needed.
