These mats are larger than the OEM carpet mats and cover more surface area on the outside edge in the front, and overall area in the back. Raised edges would have been nice, and I wish the driver's side mat didn't have holes in them for the carpet retention device (driver's side only); I'm not using them as the mat will stay in place without them. Mats are a bit plasticky but have enough grip to them in the colder weather to prevent slipping. Good design for trapping snow/debris/water, and yet allow your feet to move around without displacing debris. A very good alternative to factory mats and universal fit mats.
