  • The AMP Research PowerStep is a huge step forward in running board convenience. Its fully-automated design extends out and down when you open your door, and retracts in when you close it. Amp Power Steps give you an easy, handy stepping surface without sacrificing your ground clearance or vehicle's clean lines.

The AMP Power Step provides a super wide stepping area that's more natural and safe than standard nerf bars or running boards, plus they're made from tough aluminum for a 600 pound carrying capacity. The side steps and motors have been tested in every environment and temperature from 200 degrees F to 40 below zero for proven tough performance. Also available on select models, is the "Plug and Play" feature, which allows you to power your running boards through your vehicle's OBD-II port. This means no wire splicing, no removal of door panels, and since it features a pass-thru harness, you'll still retain access to your OBD-II port.

Your AMP Research PowerStep Running Boards are backed with a 5-Year/60K Mile Warranty.

I have installed many of these. The amp research main brain crapped out immediately. Amp research is replacing and they are good to work with but this is nothing but an inconvenience! For the amount of money you pay for these , quality control should be a lot better.

Great quality steps wife is very happy with the look and performance of her powersteps. Took me about 5 hours alone to install but mainly because the stock screws wouldn’t fit the relocation plate so I had to modify it with nuts bolts and washers. Then the driver side portion of the wiring harness routing took several times to get between the body and inner fender well. Loose it before trying is my advice.

An inventory of parts upon opening the boxes and packages revealed a missing Allen head screw 3/4" x 1/4" galvanized bracket attachment. Had to make a trip to specialty shop to purchase replacement, (not galvanized), wasted 1 1/2 hours. Step looks and works great; routing of wiring harness was more or less a guess!

Nut serts should have a torque rating for proper seating. Had two pulled out. Front frame mounts were drilled and tapped. Metal was too thick for the nut sert. The wiring went good to complete this project took 12 hours.

Happy with running boards and how the truck looks after install. Is tall was straight forwards except the connecting of the harness to the driver side motor. I was not able to plug in the harness connector with the motor installed because not enough room. I had to remove the motor, connect the plug then install the motor. It took me about 4-1/2 hrs the removal of fixed boards and install of AMP. The power boards are wider with better grip than fixed plastic step ones I had before. IMO the cost is over priced, but I wanted them so forked up the money.

The amp powered running boards function very nicely, smooth, quiet and tuck up perfectly.Tech support was excellent. instructions were good overall with 2 exceptions. 1) The two pin connector was impossible to connect to the green block without removing the driver's side weather seal and then removing the dash end cap. Once that was done the green block hung right there and connected easily. 2) The 2 Purple trigger wires give you a 50/50 shot at proper connection. Overall very pleased with this product. The 2 1/2 inch lift made it very hard for wife to enter the cab, these boards fixed her issue. Happy wife happy life. Thank you for a great product and wonderful support.

I ordered my running boards on Labor Day. I called Amp Research to ask a question and after my question was answered I ordered them while on the phone The representative I was talking with was very helpful and said I should receive my order in a couple of days. I received my order and only took about two hours to complete. I had a question about two wires so I made a call to Amp Research and the service technician was very helpful answering my question and then emailed me a color picture of the wires l needed to use and all worked perfectly. The running boards have made getting in and out of the truck so much more easier. Great customer service.
