The product is great but the instructions suck. It say start with the left side rail but no indication of which one that is. I tried it three different ways before I got it right. After I was done I saw that the picture sort of indicates which part it is. If the instructions were better this job would take 30 or 40 minutes.

Installation sheet with the bars was poor, had to go to the web site to download installation instructions. Installation went smoothly after I found which parts went to the driver side. The bars are nice and sturdy, the only desire would be that the step pad on the driver side would be about 6 inches further back for the Ford Explorer. Metric tools would be better but 5/8" and 3/4" work well. Driver side took almost an hour but passenger was 30 minutes once things were learned. This was without a lift which would have made it quicker. Good product at reasonable price, no drilling installation.

I have a car lift and thought this would be a quick install on my Ford Expedition. The instructions and instruction photos are very lacking in detail and the pics are very poor. It took some time to figure what part was what and where the part was to be located. Additionally the hardware (nuts and bolts) that were supplied to install the step bars were not the correct size to thread into the areas where the support brackets needed to locate. Went to the hardware store and bought the correct nuts and bolts needed. Once initially installed the bars were located too close to the rocker panels so back to the hardware store and found spacers that located the bars 2" farther out from the rocker panels. I think I spent an additional $30-$40 on the additional parts I needed, and took over 3 hours to install and then reinstall with spacers, a job that should have probably taken 1.5-2 hour at the most. The step bars now look great and are functional although the mounting brackets are not real sturdy, the bars do have some movement when being used. If I had it to do over I would opt for a better engineered product even if the cost was higher.

Great nerf bars, installation took longer because instructions could be more helpful. Overall they look great on my Dakota and are very solid to get in and out of the truck.

Easy to install on my 2003 Tundra. I had the parts laid out based on the pictures in the instructions and when I went to install the driver's side front bracket I noticed a stamp on it with two letters that read "PF". I obviously had the wrong bracket so I got up grabbed the one stamped "DF". The manufacturer taking the time to stamp the parts saved me time and stress.
