Chevy Avalanche Tonneau Covers and Truck Bed Covers

When you have a 2002 Avalanche the tonneau cover choices are minimal at best. All information available for installation of this product, including youtube or the brochure, are somewhat short in making this easy. It might be fast and easy if you've done a few of these before but for a first timer like myself, it was a bit of a struggle, although not insurmountable. Removing what existed before is the first step. The next big question on my mind was, "how exactly does this fit once installed?" For instance, should the final panel fit over the tailgate or does it go inside the tailgate and against it? Mine goes over, which seems a bit odd because every time you want to close it again, you have to first lift that last panel, so that the tailgate can fit under it. Another complaint is that there are two nobs that secure the panel closest to the cab and they are smaller than what I'd like, which makes them difficult to secure. Larger would be easier. Knowing how far to push the panel towards the cab was strictly, trial by fire. No info on that, whatsoever. If per chance you are looking for security under these panels, I believe it would be pretty easy to pop these open. Fortunately, I'm more concerned with the look and I think these look pretty good. Looks great on my truck I really like it better than slats that were on the back of my truck. Easier to move maneuver around and looks very nice.

The BakFlip cover came right on time. My daughter and I installed it in just over an hour. Only one problem... the instructions were for a different mounting system (one with clamps). This one came with self-tapping screws. I did find a Youtube video that showed the installation of that type. Problem solved. That's the reason for 4 stars. The cover works great. No more lifting those bulky Chevy Avalanche covers. Well worth the money. AutoAccessoriesGarage was by far the lowest price out there! I highly recommend them.

Cover looks good but doesn't fit my 2001 Avalanche at tailgate. Needs shims that were not provided. Supplied instructions were not for Avalanche. Cover is not as sturdy as advertised (bends under 200 lbs of weight).
