The MSD Billet Distributor is built around a precision CNC machined billet aluminum housing and base, delivering strength and great looks in one package. It is supplied with a Digital HEI Module and Coil, including an 8.5 amp single spark inductive discharge ignition module PN 83647 and MSD HEI Coil PN 8225, providing full spark energy output to 9,000 RPM with improved dwell and timing control. The adjustable centrifugal advance assembly is tig welded to the distributor shaft and uses staked and welded weight pins, nylon pads for smooth operation, and fine blanked chrome moly steel weights and advance plate that are QPQ coated to reduce friction. Three sets of springs and four stop bushings allow up to 24 different timing curves, and the mechanical advance can easily be locked out for race applications. A vacuum advance canister supports improved economy and can also be locked out if needed. The polished steel shaft is QPQ coated and guided by a sealed ball bearing, and a special oil tract improves lubrication to the distributor and cam gear. It is supplied with a brass terminal cap, rotor, coil cover, and heavy duty gear for ready installation. Note that PN 8365 is designed to replace HEI distributors that use a 4 pin ignition module, and the unit is CARB E.O. approved.
