Unlike inductive ignitions that lose coil charge time at higher RPM, this system maintains high spark energy of 135mJ to 150mJ for every firing, supported by a high speed controller that makes rapid compensations to output voltage while maintaining precise timing. The circuits are thoroughly filtered for protection against Electro Magnetic Interference and the unit is fully protected against open coil, shorted coil, and open load conditions. It operates on most 7 to 28 volt electrical systems with 12 to 15 volts and 7 volt start capability, draws 1.1 amp per 1,000 RPM, and supports up to 15,000 RPM with 14.4 volts. Designed as a plug and play upgrade for current 6201 MSD 6A installations, it connects to points and magnetic pickups, installs easily on 4, 6, and 8 cylinder engines with distributors, and includes a tach output.
