  • It seems pickup truck beds are getting taller and taller, making it harder to get into the bed. Add to that oversize tires and lift kits, and you'll need a springboard just to get up to the bed! Finally, a solution - the AMP Research BedStep, an ingenious bumper-mounted step that gives you easy access to the bed, no matter how tall.

Step right up into your bed with the AMP Research BedStep. All it takes is a little tap of the foot to deploy the step. When you're done, flip it back up. The BedStep Truck Bed Step stows up under the bumper and is nearly invisible when not in use. It utilizes precision bearing pins and rigid cast aluminum hinges for smooth operation, strong support, and a long life of maintenance-free service.

AMP Research designs the BedStep for flawless performance in any conditions. The whole step is anodized black and powder-coated with Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) for superior corrosion protection. Its glass-reinforced non-slip resin step pad offers a safe stepping surface even in the face of mud, rain, and snow. Best yet, it bolts on to your vehicle at existing mounting holes on your truck's bumper and frame in under 10 minutes. No drilling, no modifications.

Getting into and out of your truck bed shouldn't be a chore - bolt on an AMP Research BedStep for handy bed access. Backed with a 3-Year, 36,000-Mile Warranty.

Customer service from AMP and AAG was excellent. Either thru a typo or some other reason, I received the wrong bed step from my truck. AAG was able to turn around the correct bed step within a few days. Installation was a little more difficult for my '14 Tundra than expected but went well. AMP gets thumbs up from me.

Works great. I wanted a permanent device instead of the hitch-mounted steps that have to be removed. Instructions need some review. Step 7 removes five upper bolts. The four on the right of the illustration aren't relevant to the corner bracket. There are only two upper bolts, and the one on the left is not in the picture. In step 10, I was able to torque the forward main bolt using a swivel adapter on my torque wrench. Good luck on the bolt to the rear. I could not find enough room to maneuver the wrench in the tight quarters. Unless you can find a tool or technique I did not have, you may just have to use whatever wrench is available and guess. The bumper cap retainers are quite difficult to coax out without some breakage, so I lost a couple, but not enough to be a problem. It might useful to have a helper gently lift the cover while you work the tabs through the holes from the bottom. Good luck.

I installed one of these a few years ago on an F250 in minutes. This one involved taking the bumper trim off, removing a bracket and replacing it with another from the kit. Getting trim off a new vehicle and lining up the bracket bolt holes made the job take about an hour. Not AMPs fault so I only took off 1/2 a point.

If I would have known how damn hard this was to install I would never have done it. There is another way that would have cut out 3 hrs. The step is mushy as well since the plastic is not supported.
