I was looking for a continuous step type running board and then I saw ATS Design Edge Running Board. I have a 2013 Toyota Tacoma Access Cab and wanted the running board to extend to the leading edge of the pick-up bed as a step. Therefore, I purchased the 80 inch long running board used for the Tacoma double cab. The length was perfect for a step into the pickup bed and a small bracket "can be" made to attach the end of the running board to the front of the rear fender bracket for extra support. But, I don't think it is required for the average weight of a person. The extruded design and thickness gives it enough strength to be cantilevered a little from the rear support.
