Romik RAL-T Running Boards 61342419

Overall this is a nice product. I rate it as a three star because they did not fit without some modification on my 2016 Ram 1500 Sport (Crew Cab). The middle brackets that bolt to the underbody and hold the running boards had to be modified by drilling additional holes into the provided bracket to allow for the bolts to pass through. The provided middle brackets' holes did not line up properly on either the passenger and the driver side. I think this is because Romik has not accounted for the 2016 crew cab set up. The pinch welds on the underbody, where part of the brackets bolts to, is at a different angle and so throws the alignment off. I would say it's approximately 15 degrees off hence the need to drill holes on the provided brackets to accommodate the difference. As long as you have a drill with bits designed to cut through steel you can make it fit. If not then you might want to look else where for a proper fitting running board. Also, all the hardware is stainless steel and if you are going for a blackout look you will have to rattle can the hardware with black after installation. I don't know why Romik doesn't supply black hardware with their black running boards, makes sense to me (read=sarcasm). Why did I modify and not return? I did not want to go through a return process and not have running boards. Plus it was a semi-easy fix and I like the look of these particular running boards. I am attaching photos so that you can see how they look with my truck and also a photo showing the middle bracket that I had to modify. You will see that there are four holes with two occupied by spray painted bolts. The two holes that are not occupied are the ones that come from the Romik factory pre-drilled and the two with the bolts are the holes I had to drill to make this work. If I had to drill holes into the truck to make them work then these boards would have been returned. Again, I love how they look but I don't think I should have to modify brackets or spray paint bolts black, and so, I only give it a three star rating. Too expensive to have to modify.
