    The overall install process was not bad. I am disappointed in the quality control of the product as you can see in the pictures below. The weather stripping was no on straight, leaving gaps for moisture to come in. It also did not run the length of the rail and i had to use leftover weather stripping from the bulkhead layer to fill the gap. Which will not sustain keeping the elements out. The weather stripping for the bulkhead does not seal up to the weather stripping on the roll up cover mount. Had to purchase additional weather stripping to keep the air and elements from coming in through the bulk head. I researched the cover as I was replacing on older cover that failed. It was not until I installed the cover that I saw the warning to not drive the vehicle with the cover rolled up. This was the main purpose of buying a rollup cover. I will have to find a way now to secure it while hauling items in the bed with the cover rolled up. I have not had it in rain or carwash to determine the amount of leakage the cover may have. So I am not able to respond to that. Overall I am not truly happy with the cover due to the poor quality and attention to detail. My rating may have been lower, but I have only had it installed for a few days....

    I've had several Truxedo's, and they have all suffered from the same design flaws. The side rails need to snap into the header, not just slide in and then slide out as you're sliding the other side in. It's impossible to square the 3 pieces on the truck bed when nothing fastens together! Then we have the non-adjustable latch spring assembly. I could not snap the tailgate header down even by sitting on it! The springs were just too tight. So with a pair of needle nose pliers, I was able to back those non-adjustable springs off enough to make the tailgate header down with a satisfying snap. The cover now works as it's intended, and it's time for a cold beer to attempt to determine how such a potentially great product could have been so poorly designed.

    Once I got over the “optical illusion” of the curved bed rails on my 01 Lightning, the install was a piece of cake. Fit perfect and looks amazing!
