Undercover Ultra Flex Tonneau Cover

I bought this Undercover Ultra Flex for my GMC 8' bed because I had the exact same one for my 6.5' bed, and I loved it. HOWEVER, this 8' bed model has a split side rail (you have to screw two pieces together to make it 8' long), and it is not nearly as strong as my previous one. It also seems to be a much lighter weight side rail and is not rigid enough to hold its position when you close the cover and attempt to latch the sections. There is soooo much flex in the side rail it is difficult to get the latches to latch. My previous one stated in the sales pitch that it would support 400 lbs. I am 200 lbs and I could stand on it. This one says nothing about the weight it can hold, and I would not even think about standing on this weak hard cover. Since I have a previous model of the same cover to compare it to, I am totally not pleased with this new 8' bed model. I did not return it because I will painfully make it meet my needs, and I don't "need" to stand on it. I did not want to go thru the hassle of a return since I had to wait for this one to actually be manufactured to get it (15 days). I would NOT buy this model again if given the choice. I don't know if all of the 8' bed models are weak like this one, or have they just made them lower quality to increase margin? I don't know. But I am very disappointed. Looks great though.

Rails are flimsy. Clamps do not secure rail firmly. Instructions are very bad. Hire a new illustrator and make better

I put the cover on and back off several times. No matter what I do the sections won’t lock to the side rails without raising each side rail for each section. I finally shimmed between the bed and the side rails and got the back next to the tailgate to latch. Also the add I looked at said the undercover ultra flex came with a light that I did not receive. Not satisfied at all.

Great cover, great look, just wish it didn’t leak by the tailgate.
